What Customer Success Managers Can Learn from Oasis: Our Customers Make Us Shiiiine!

What Customer Success Managers Can Learn from Oasis: Our Customers Make Us Shiiiine!

Posted on August 23, 2025August 23, 2025 by Client Days

Noel Gallagher says that Oasis were “a band made by the people” in his interview on the Oasis YouTube channel commemorating the 30th anniversary of the band’s debut album “Definitely Maybe.”

This post will explore 5 quotes from Oasis’ Supersonic Documentary that explain how the band views their fans as the source of their success with takeaways CSMs can apply with our customers.

(Note to Oasis fans: you will notice the quotes are paraphrased for profanity. Do you know what I mean?)

1. Our Customers Make Us Great

“The songs on (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? are extraordinary songs. And they’re not extraordinary because of anything that I did. I only wrote them and we only played them. It’s the millions of people who sing them back to you to this day that make them extraordinary.” – Noel Gallagher

What our customer gets from our offering is what gives it value. The meaning our customers get from their work with us is the measure of success.

2. How Our Customer Feels About Us is Invaluable

“You couldn’t say anyone who was ever in Oasis me included was the best in the world at anything. But when it all came together we made people feel something that was indefinable. People will never ever forget how you made them feel.” – Noel Gallagher

How our customer feels about our company can define our working relationship together.  Does our customer like us and recommend us or are they unhappy and potentially considering other solutions?

3. We Should Value Our Customers

“People make the mistake of thinking that people on the stage are defining something. What if no one turns up? We can get excited about the 2.6 million people that applied for tickets to Oasis’ concerts in Knebworth in 1996. But do you know what’s great about that? 2.6 million people – not anything that we did. And the people were with us.” – Noel Gallagher

We can show gratitude, humility and recognition for our customer. We can remember that our customer being with us is what drives our success.

4. We Enable Our Customer’s Experience

“There’s nothing better than singing those songs to the people. Blast their souls and the fans just going crazy.” – Liam Gallagher

CSMs can use our skills, attitude and knowledge to enable our customer’s success. We can bring energy to our partnership to engage our customer and encourage success.

5. Being with Our Customer Creates Great Results

“There’s a chemistry between the band and the audience. There’s something magnetic drawing the two to each other. The love and the vibe and the passion are the rage and the joy coming from the group. If anything, that’s what Oasis was.” – Noel Gallagher

When we combine with our customer we create great results together. Our customer relationships may have success and challenges at points yet we can work together in our journey to achieve great results.

Oasis is currently on their Live ’25 reunion tour selling out shows “All Around the World.” Following Oasis’ approach with their fans may help us create our own “Champagne Supernova” with our client relationships.
